HIGH LIFE (10-10-11)

Well the USB flash drive thingie I lost in the studio is long gone.  Oh well.  Full-on mp3s of this show are gonna have to wait until I can get another one.  I'm crying inside.

That said, here's what I ended up playing:

Glenn Branca "Lesson No. 1 for Electric Guitar"
 High Places "Sonora"
Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti "Gray Sunset"
 Gang Gang Dance "Side 2"
 Excepter "Sunrise"
 High Places "Sophia"
 Primitive Motion "A Straight Line"
Abner Jay "Sitting On Top Of The World"
 Stan Hubbs "Golden Rose"
 Konono N°1 "Kuke Kule"
 Black Dice "Live Loop"
 Pigeons "Behind The Reeds"
Serge Gainsbourg "Soixante Neuf Annee Erotique"
 Roxy Music "Bitters End"
Bird Names "People Should Get More Aware"
Peaking Lights "Birds of Paradise (Dub Version)"
 High Places "Morning Ritual"
 Hype Williams "Rescue Dawn 2"
Eric Copeland "Reptilian Space Beings Shapeshifting Bloodsucking Vampires"
Francis Harold & The Holograms "Glitter Girls"
 Chrisma "Lola"
 39 Clocks "PLO"
 Pigeons "Chances"
 Mark McGuire "Alma"
Francoise Hardy "Le Temps De l'Amour"
 Joao Gilberto "A FELICIDADE"
 Jacques Brel "Les Bourgeois"
 Naomi Punk "Shouldna Started Trouble"
 Pigeons "Tout Nulle Part"
 Primitive Motion "Circle Of Light"
 High Places "Twenty Seven"
 Holger Czukay "Twilight World"
 Godley & Creme "Freeze Frame"
 Gang Gang Dance "Glass Jar"

As you can probably tell I'm pretty into that new Pigeons record.  It's out soonish on Soft Abuse, one of my favorite labels out of my old hometown of Minneapolis.  That new High Places record, Original  Colors, is pretty good too.  It's reminiscent of Peaking Lights in  a few ways...a little more produced-sounding but still.  Thrill Jockey is the label that's dealing with that one.

So, if you're in the Missoula area, check out my show.  It's early, 9-11am on Mondays, but like I mention: d earlier, I'm hoping to get some mp3s up of the thing soon.  You can also stream KBGA (89.9FM in the area) via this link.
